MilSpouse Friday Fill-In (new :D)

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

Yay for new things to do :D Link up at Wife of a Sailor!!

1. Have you and your spouse agreed to live in separate locations (a geographical bachelor tour) knowing that the short-term inconvenience would have long-term benefits for your family? How did it work for you? submitted by When Good People Get Together
We have lived separately a few times, but no more than a few months at a time. So I don't think that it would really count :)

2. What is your favorite thing about being a MilSpouse? submitted by Sarah Ruth Today

I think that my favorite thing is the overwhelming pride and respect for my husband. It blows my mind how committed, motivated and awesome he is.

3. If you could still have your spouse/significant other and your family, but take the military life out of it…would you?  submitted by Trust. Love. Believe. Bake.
Not right now. We have plans to be a non-military family eventually, but for right now, it's all we know. It's what fits us. It's hard and it sucks sometimes, but it works.

4. What have your homecoming experiences been like after a year long tour of separation? submitted by Army Soldier, Army Wife

Oh man. Homecoming. Just the word makes me wanna cry. I think homecoming is overwhelming. You have all these emotions and things you want to get out of you. I went to a few homecomings with my other wifey friends after my husband's first and I cried each time. I love the reunions. It really is overwhelming. Shoot, I cried for an hour on my road trip down here to pick Nick up from the airport for R&R. I was so happy to see him. I also kind of wanted to puke. LOL. It's also hard because they have to readjust. My husband has a really boring sit-at-a-computer-all-day job while deployed so when he gets back, it's a bit hard to be around a lot of people, noise or commotion. It stressed him out to have the kids going a mile a minute and doing all these new things and me bombarding him with all kinds of stories and just talking his ears off.

5. If you have a child(ren) why you chose their name(s)? If not, why you would name your child something?  submitted by Tiara’s & ACU’s
Matthew Brian - Matthew is after the baby my MIL and FIL lost about 6 years prior to my pregnancy. Brian is a family middle name on my husband's side.
Cambria Adrienne - Cambria is after one of our favorite bands Coheed & Cambria. We mostly call her Cami which is my bff from high school's nickname. My husband and I could NOT agree on a middle name. I suggested Zee because all the guys in the family have Datsun Z's, but then I also wanted a combination of my mom and his mom's middle names - Marian + Ann = MariAnn. Nick hated that. So I googled French baby names and clicked the first link and then Adrienne was the first one we liked on the list. lol

It's Been Hectic.

I feel like we're just now getting settled in...about midway through our R&R now :(

The hubs and I are going out on a date tomorrow hopefully :) I'm superly excited.
We've been doing really well since he's been home. We've not really argued or anything. We've had moments of annoyance but we have been able to just brush it off and not get worked up. I've been working really hard on not nagging.

The kiddos have been soooo hyper. It's insane!

I don't think I've blogged about the trip...so I will steal from what I wrote to my girls on Cafemom.

The ride down here was smooth sailing for the most part. I saw a shooting star right after I got on the road. I decided to not stop for breakfast and lunch and just book it to Tennessee, which ended up paying off in the long run.

Nick called me at 10:30 and I didn't answer because I didn't know the number. I was all "Shiz that was probably Nick" and he left a voicemail saying he was in Atlanta and would be in Knoxville at 12:30. Only problem was...I wasn't going to make it until around 1pm. I cried for like an hour because I was so upset that I wouldn't get to see him at the airport. Then Matthew had an accident in the car.

Then when I stopped to change Matthew and get gas (because even at 80 to 85 mph I really wasn't going to make it to the airport in time)...he called again and I answered. He said his flight got pushed back and would be in at 1:00pm. I could possibly make it. Then his little sister called me and said the two flights coming in were a 1:39 and a 2:00....so I had even MORE time.

We made it through the gate and were there 10 minutes before he got there! :)  Nick's mom and little sister Emma and his Papaw were there. Nick like booked it out of the gate the second he saw us and ran over to hug the kids...we were all crying. It was awesome.

Then as we were leaving, a woman walked up to Mom and said "Is he just coming home?" Nick's mom nodded and the lady handed her $100 and said have lunch on me. Mom said she wants us to use it for our date night! :)

We went to the mall and got Cami's ears pierced...which was sooooo hilarious. I'll have to tell that story later, when I do a Telephone Tree Tuesday and get the pics off my cell phone :)

Then after the kids fell asleep...Nick, me, his brother Zack, Zack's gf Casey and his sisters Kathleen and Emma played beer pong and smoked hookah (tobacco). Haven't had that much fun in a long time. :)

Decided It's Time For a Little...

TV Show Talk :D

I might start doing this once a week. Maybe Saturday nights.
So...

Sunday:
Khloe and Lamar on E!
Lamar's friend Jamie has had some hard times. But now he's lazing around while he's supposed to be handling "Rich Soil", Lamar's clothing line. Khloe talks to Lamar and then brings it up at a dinner "party" unsuccessfully. Later, she changes the locks to the loft (? I wasn't really paying attention when they were talking about what she was changing the locks on) and goes to tell Jamie. He starts getting irritated and they start to argue. I think that Jamie is a bit sexist. The way he talks to Lamar on the phone about her "You need to handle your wife" and then how he is a bit snarky when Khloe and him go out to lunch. She has been successful in the world of business and I think she's completely right in this situation.

Sister Wives on TLC
Meri's sister passed away from colon cancer, so Meri is going to get a colonoscopy. They find polyps but they end up being noncancerous. The wives talk about how they have their own support system in the polygamy lifestyle where they know their children will always have someone to take care of them even if something happens to them. That was a lot of thems. I hope I didn't get confusing. Kody, Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn have some non-Polygamist friends over for a little "Thank You" dinner. It seems like they have some great friends that aren't judgemental. I get pretty irate over people saying their lifestyle is disgusting or demeaning. These are all adults who consented to this lifestyle. Furthermore, what's normal for us is heterosexual monogamy because it's the majority of what our society practices...or I should say that is what our society sets as the "right thing." If I'm not mistaken, all five of them were raised in the polygamy faith and it is normal for them. I absolutely adore Kody's quote "Love should be multiplied, not divided" - before I watched the show, I was against polygamy. Now I'm not.

Mob Wives on VH1
Woah nelly. This is going to be interesting. This was the series premiere...all I have to say is that Renee needs to lay off the tanning, plastic surgery and attitude. She thinks she's hot shiz and she's disgusting. Way over the top!

Monday:
Secret Life of the American Teenager on ABC Family
Adrienne wants everyone in the wedding, including Amy and Ricky. Amy is flipping her shit about Adrienne and Ben getting married before her and Ricky. Ricky's mom and Amy's dad are flirting. Adrienne and Ben's parents talk about getting them a condo. Lauren's mom and stepdad are separating and it seems like her mom and dad are getting jiggy with it. Ben and Ricky have a talk. Ricky urges Ben to not get married yet. Madison and Jack are back togetherish. The texting is so annoying. Grace and Grant aren't going to have sex. Holy crap. Does Grant annoy anyone else? Like a lot? I think it was Chelsea Handler that pointed out how many times they say sex in one episode...or maybe it was The Soup. Who knows? Adrienne is way overexcited about the condo. Amy decides to bombard Ricky and be all "Hey let's have sex" and then...her dad is there. FAIL. HAHAHAHAHA. And then he's all "let's not have sex" and then Amy gets on her knees and asks him to marry her. WTF. The only reason I still watch this show is because I watched the first 2 seasons....ahh too much time invested into this awful acting and writing to stop!

Tuesday:
16 & Pregnant on MTV
Jordan is a twin. Her twin is incredibly annoying. She whiny and jealous about her twin sister having a boyfriend and not spending every second of every day with her. Brian reminds me of my husband. I like him. They seem very strong and solid in their relationship. You can tell he really cares about her, he was wiping away tears during labor seeing her in pain. He was crying when he got to hold Noah. I was bawling my eyes out. I think I do this with every birth I see. It's such a perfect moment. Now...Noah ends up with severe acid reflux. They dealt with it for 5 weeks before going to the dr. Don't babies have well checkups at 2 weeks and 1 month? Or do they not do that anymore? I get kind of peeved when these teen mothers wait until last second to get their babies checked out (Like with Corey and Leah's baby Ali)...I would never wait as long as they did if I suspected something was wrong. Maybe I'm just paranoid. I think these 2 will make it. They have a very supportive family and seem to be rock solid in their relationship. Another thought: I wish MTV would teach these girls how to properly restrain their children in carseats.

Note for all you readers: Please please educate yourself on car seat safety. I was very uneducated about the subject too and thanks to the Cafemom carseat enthusiasts, I learned what was the right way for everything. My top tips: the straps should be snug against your little one - NO SLACK, the chest clip should sit right underneath their armpits, the actual belts themselves should be a little above or right at their shoulders, NO thick coats or sweaters on when they are in the carseat (I live in Ft. Drum, NY and it gets really cold here - it's completely possible to keep them warm and safe! Promise!), invest in a great carseat (I saved up and got 2 Graco Nautilus-es) that will last a long time, rear facing is important..and most importantly - don't make petty excuses about carseat safety - it's your child's life that we're talking about!

Glee on Fox

I must admit. This episode was a little boring so I didn't really pay attention. My favorite part was definitely Britney killing at the little smart kid thingie. Basically the Glee Club is raising money for Nationals (right?) by doing a Neglect Night or something like that. 6 people show up. 4 hecklers who were Sue's minons...and then Kurt and his bf. Sunshine (the little Asian from Vocal Adrenline) had betrayed them by saying she was going to help out and get her 900 twitter followers to come and then she didn't. Mercedes tries to act like a diva. And....Holly and Mr. Shuester have some jealousy issues. Then they break up as she accepts a job in Cleveland, very sweet breakup if you ask me. She also tells Will that she freed up a girl with her counseling sessions and that the girl likes him too. That balding glasses guy (I'm bad with names :P) finances the smart kid thingie. Then the episode ends with Sue telling the Honey Badger (Will's ex-wife) that it's her time. DUN DUN DUN. Next episode has more Gaga...YAY! :D

Wednesday:
The Real World: Las Vegas on MTV
New roommate. Oh my. I think Nany and Naomi are being super catty. I like the new roomy, Cooke. But that could be because she's a tomboy. Mike is right about Dustin. And the girls are annoying because they are all "She's a bitch" one second and then "Why isn't she with us? Are we not good enough for her?" the next. Like figure out what you're gonna be. She told them flat out at the little lunch that she had a hard time making friends with girls. She hangs out with guys. Jeez. Oh and Naomi is ticking me off with Leroy. She says he can hook up with whoever, but she's getting mad over Cooke?? Really? I never really liked Naomi and after the whole Adam crap with Nany, I really don't like her. What twats. Cookie had to go pee and she pointed towards where Heather was standing and Naomi overreacted and then told Nany and then they were both drunk and in Cookie's face.

And that's it for this week since I'm homebound and won't be able to get to my DVR stuff until I'm back.

What shows do you watch every week?
If you watch some of these, what were your thoughts?

Lover Awakened [Review]

"Lover Awakened" by JR Ward - 5 Stars
Synopsis: In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, a deadly turf war rages between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Of these, Zsadist is the most terrifying member of the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

A former blood slave, the vampire Zsadist still bears the scars from a past filled with suffering and humiliation. Renowned for his unquenchable fury and sinister deeds, he is a savage feared by humans and vampires alike. Anger is his only companion and terror his only passion-until he rescues a beautiful female from the evil Lessening Society.

Bella is instantly entranced by the seething power Zsadist possesses. But even as their desire for each other begins to overtake them, Zsadist's thirst for vengeance against Bella's tormentors drives him to the brink of madness. Now Bella must help her lover overcome the wounds of his tortured past and find a future with her.

My Thoughts: This is definitely my favorite. I'm not as excited for the next in the series because it's about the human.

I was very interested in Z from the beginning and wanted to hear about his scars and his dark side. It was unbelievable. And HOT! :

Telephone Tree Tuesday :}

Hopefully next week I will have some awesome pictures because road trips always make for great pictures! :}

Here's what's happening in my world :D
I found old pictures on my phone...this is from Nov 2010. Bella after a bath...the happiness radiates off of her, doesn't it?

Look at this cute lil thang! Also Nov 2010. I wish her hair didn't grow so slowly. She looks so cute here...her hair is much shorter now.

Matthew drew a bunny. Kind of Monty Python-esque, huh?

Excuse my hair...I only had just done my makeup and then my mom called. Look! I have 2 WHOLE eyebrows :)

Look at that sucker!

Matthew drew a Spongebob :]

They are best friends.

I heard rustling downstairs...and peeked down quick and saw Cami's gate was sitting aside and the light on in her room. Matthew had kicked her out of her own bed and he fell asleep with toys in his hands from playing. LOL

This was the worst day yet. This was....Saturday? It was oozy and raw all day.. It's looking leaps and bounds better today. I'm hoping it keeps getting better. I'm a wuss when it comes to pain.

Part of my finger is healing.

Nick's clothes and the kids' Easter stuff is in the tote. Then Nick's computer, boots, sandals, CD case of Wii games and kids movies...CDs to put in the car on top of the tote. The kids' clothes in the yellow duffel and my clothes in the brown luggage. This is me packing for at least 3 weeks. I say I do damn good at keeping things to a minimum :)

Halfway!

I was so caught up in the excitement of getting ready to leave NY, that I completely forgot it was officially our halfway mark! This means that I need to revisit my deployment goals...

  1. Find stuff to do in the surrounding area that we haven't done before. EXPLORE. - Last month I decided to put this off until warmer weather. I'm hoping to take the kids to Old McDonald's Farm and the Thompson Park Zoo a few times this summer. Possibly the Syracuse Zoo.
  2. Regularly exercise. This was deterred with my finger. I was actually doing really well. Once my finger heals up, I'm definitely going to get back on track. I know that sounds like a lame excuse but I can't grip my weights at all. My finger frickin hurts.
  3. Drink more water. No soda. I still need to drink more water. I was doing better when I was exercising, but not so much now. I don't think I've had a soda in the last month, but I still need to drink more water than I do now.
  4. KEEP my cleaning schedule. The last 2 or so weeks I have done really great at doing this :]
  5. Find a place to get rid of the junk in the garage [the broken appliances]. Still waiting on a bulk  pickup date.
  6. Read as many books as possible and watch all the movies Nick doesn't want to watch. I'm sort of converting this into my 100-book challenge for the year. I'm 13 books in right now. I'll be able to watch more movies this summer when I'm done with school.
  7. Try to make the best out of the life in Ft. Drum. This will be easier this summer.
  8. Pick up a hobby and STICK to it. I haven't been crocheting much. But I've been blogging a bunch.
  9. Make a better, stronger marriage for myself, for my husband and for my kids. I'm excited to see how our hard work has paid off when we see each other face-to-face.
  10. Be more patient with the kids. I've gotten better, but I still think I could do more.
  11. Finish my associate's degree. I am almost done. I have 2 more assignments and a final and I'm completely done.
  12. Stop cursing so much. I've been trying to replace curse words. Eh. I could put more effort into this one.
  13. Clean the car on a nice day - take Armoral wipes to the interior and steam clean it. Then take it for regular car washes - at least every other week on bright sunny days. I did clean it out when we had a really nice day. But I still need to steam clean it. I want to do this after we get home from Knoxville. And I still want to do regular car washes.
  14. Bring the car in for a tuneup in mid-April. Done :]
  15. Mall trip at least once a month. I need out of this house. This was kind of put off due to #14.
  16. *NEW* Make a recipe bucket list.
  17. *NEW* Start the garden indoors and transfer outdoors after Mother's Day.
  18. *NEW* Start to get rid of the baby stuff in the basement.
Why am I blanking on things I want to add to my list? What the heck?

    Lover Eternal [Review]

Just finished another amazing read....which is great after a few duds.
I'm seriously impressed with this series...definitely one of my favorites :)

    Synopsis:
In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war raging between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret bound of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Possessed bu a deadly beast Rhage is the most dangerous of the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

Within the brotherhood, Rhage is the vampire with the strongest appetites. He's the best fighter, the quickest to act on his impulses, and the most voracious lover-for inside him burns ferocious curse cast by the Scribe Virgin. Owned by this dark side, Rhage fears the time when his inner dragon is unleashed, making him a danger to everyone around him.

Mary Luce, a survivor of many hardships is unwittingly thrown into the vampire world and reliant to Rhage's protection. With a life-threatening curse of her own, Mary is not looking for love. She lost her faith in miracles years ago. But when Rhage's intense animal attraction turns into something more emotional, he knows that he must make Mary his alone. And while their enemies close in, Mary fights desperately to gain life eternal with the one she loves...

    My Thoughts:
I want to say that I enjoyed this one more than the first, less Lesser talk and more Brotherhood-ness. I'm even more excited for the next in the series! Ward is an amazing author.

Next book I am reading is "I'll Scream Later" by Marlee Matlin. I'm excited :D
I also would like to tell my 2011 Book Challenge to shove it. Supposedly I'm 16 books behind...and that's after I downsized my challenge from 150 to 100.

    Nervous.

    I am NERVOUS.

Why, you may ask? Because I'm going to see the love of my life for the first time in over 6 months.

Now you may ask...why is that making you nervous?

    Hmm.

It feels like I'm meeting him for a first date. I want to look extra good to impress him and I want to make sure that I don't make an ass out of myself. I am by no means clumsy, but I always find a way to fall, get bumped, bruised, scraped and cut, or just in general, be awkward. I think I just vomited commas. That's okay though. I'm nervous.

Today I made an ass out of myself at the car shop. One guy was asking how my car was and I was confused at what he was trying to ask me and then I was like ohh duh..he remembers me from 2 weeks or so ago. Then I started to walk off and the other guy said "Keys" and I didn't hear him and then he said it again and I was like "Oh yeah, my bad" Uhh. It'd be nice if I wasn't so socially weird.

Anyways...I'm very nervous about making the perfect impression when he sees me for the first time. Of course, I'm sure I could come in a potato sack and he'd be blown away :)

Last R&R I wore way too much makeup and looked ghostly. EW. So this year, I'm going more casual and laid back. I don't need to overdo it. AND now that I've learned a little more about makeup, I think I can safely say that I'll be alright. Hopefully I won't have to draw on half an eyebrow by then.

I'm wearing a dress that I have only worn once. I wore it right before I got pregnant with Matthew when I was 17. I never got to wear it again. I held onto it for 4 years, hoping I could wear it again. A few months ago, I was going through clothes and decided it was time to let go. I don't know what crawled up my butt (glad it did) but I decided to try it on one last time. AND IT FIT. *squee* So I am wearing that dress.....and flats. DEFINITELY flats. Maybe my Toms. So I can tackle him. Actually now that I think about it, the children won't be in a stroller this time (last time they were 12 months and 23 months old)...so we will probably ALL tackle him :)

    Did I mention I'm excited?!

    *sigh*

Blabber and a Link to a Giveaway :)

First off...A Cup of Jenn is doing a wonderful giveaway for military families! I cried when I read her post because I have deployment hormones. It's a real thing. Promise. They kind of stick around too. Or at least for me.

I want to get Daddy Dolls. I keep meaning to...first I have to get a full head to toe picture of the hubs. Good thing that R&R is coming up. The kids and I are leaving in 8 days to go home to Tennessee and then we play the waiting game...could be a few days...could be a week. We'll be waiting for that phone call that he's in the states and we can leave for the airport to pick him up :D I am unbelievably excited.

But I'm also FREAKING out. My husband loves to make fun of me for my list making. I start gathering things up to pack and make my packing lists (that's right...multiple ones!) about 2 or 3 weeks before we leave. I plan stops and gas mileage and weather, etc. for the WHOLE trip (850+ miles). I have NO lists made yet. I'm probably going to do that tonight. I want to pack very lightly. VERY. Because I always bring WAY too much stuff. I'm a crazy person. Maybe. Probably.

Tomorrow I go in to get the headlights on the car fixed. Months ago, one went out. I finally got new ones and then the next week, the one that was out came back on. WTF, right? Then after I got the back brakes, tune up and coolant leak fixed a week or so ago, my OTHER headlight went out. My FIL said it could be dirty sockets *giggles* C'mon, tell me you laughed too? GMs are notorious for that. My hubby says it could be a bulb loose too. Regardless, I have the bulbs and I have to get it fixed. Hopefully it won't be too expensive. They charge $45 a half hour for labor. :/ *cough ripoff cough* Dang, I hope I'm not coming down with something.

So...this is my luck: I lopped off half an eyebrow. No joke. RIGHT before R&R. Then I spilled a cup of red wine all over the beige carpet. I am full of FAIL. :D On a good note, my fungus finger is getting better - did that make you gag a little? Yeah?

    Telephone Tree Tuesday

    YAY!

    Late night snacks. <3

    Hair dye-ing it up :)

I love how amused Matthew looks. LMAO

    Oh sweet deliciousness ;D

This is Wicked, my assassin :) She's a BAMF.

Fresh pineapple that Cami ended up eating most of while I was making dinner.

Matthew got his hair cut today :) He was so proud of it. He loves getting daddy hair cuts. And he even told the lady who cut it that daddy was in "af-gah-stan" :(

I took a picture of him...had to do one of her. haha

I came home with 7 different types of ice cream (I didn't get a picture of my chocolate chip cookie dough bars)

I thought this was a joke...but it wasn't. And I got some. It sounds DELISH.

    My MOST favorite B&Js

    And mini containers.

Stuff to fix my eyebrows...I already tried the third...not too impressed. Next will be eyebrow powder. Oh yeah...I lopped off half an eyebrow...right before Nick's R&R. Such a winner :)

Got new stuff to try while I was shopping for makeup.

Penciled on a new eyebrow. Not too bad for my first successful attempt.

So after my awful Monday and not so great Tuesday...I needed wine. I don't even drink wine. This is good. However, after 2 sips, my first glass got spilled all over the carpet :/

Waiting for bedtime to eat some cake. Notice how I'm drowning my sorrows in delicious treats? Yeah.

My little shadow...that's the kitty if you can't tell. :)

The glass I got 2 sips out of...while making dinner.

    FawkMonday

I've been plastering that all over Twitter today.

    Why?

    Mondays suck.

My Monday so far has consisted of: waking up too late, realizing that my dinner was actually an 8 hour slow cooker meal not a 4 hour, then realizing my chuck roast was bad anyways, my cat used my arm to jump onto the couch (ow)...and I've been completely lazy. I don't WANT to clean...even though I need to do some dishes from baking last night, get the kids to pick up their toys so I can vacuum the living room, clean up my bedroom and vacuum it, take all the trash out, clean the litterbox, rerun the washer, fold and put up all the clean clothes....*sigh*

Who wants to do all that on a non-lazy day?

I also have homework to do. Of course I'm weeks ahead of schedule. I finished one class already...8 weeks into 6 days. I've managed finish reading assignments for the other class and the assignment for the second week (this week). But I have 3 more assignments plus 2 written assignments and then I will be done. I just want to be done. Especially since the end of next week I will be loading up the car and driving to Tennessee to wait for my husband to make it back for his R&R.

My mind is a complete jumble today. I've been having "a-ha!" moments all day and then 2 seconds later forgetting completely. WTF. Again...FawkMonday.

Oh and I doubt I'm getting out today to send a package off to Amber...I am a sucky bestie.. I meant to send it off last Friday.

Oh crap...I still need to call the car place about my headlights. Lammmeee.

    Mondays really do suck.

Later today I will hopefully be posting 2 new memes...and then posting on 2 memes that I'm forgetting about. For shame.

    Family Bones [Review]

I normally finish books I start...unless they are awful. And even then, I will finish them because I've already put time into reading some of it.

This one...didn't even get me past the third chapter before I stopped reading.

I give this 1 star, barely.

    Synopsis:
In the town of Astral, Pennsylvania dark secrets of ancestry are revealed when Steven and Tara Weaver inherit Steven's family property. With the hopes of moving their two young children to the simple life of the country, Steven's past is hauntingly revealed. Hope turns to terror. Reality is twisted into a realm of darkness as the family discovers the truth. Twists and turns abound in this riviting thriller. Beware of the truth, it is ever changing.

    My thoughts:
I actually didn't even finish the book. It was written horribly. And from what I read of the other reviews....I don't want to.

    Room [Review]

I just finished Room by Emma Donoghue for the Clamhouse Book Club - which was passed to me after an admin stepped down - w00t :)

    I give it 3 stars.

    Synopsis:
To five-year-old Jack, Room is the entire world. It is where he was born and grew up; it's where he lives with his Ma as they learn and read and eat and sleep and play. At night, his Ma shuts him safely in the wardrobe, where he is meant to be asleep when Old Nick visits.

Room is home to Jack, but to Ma, it is the prison where Old Nick has held her captive for seven years. Through determination, ingenuity, and fierce motherly love, Ma has created a life for Jack. But she knows it's not enough...not for her or for him. She devises a bold escape plan, one that relies on her young son's bravery and a lot of luck. What she does not realize is just how unprepared she is for the plan to actually work.

Told entirely in the language of the energetic, pragmatic five-year-old Jack, ROOM is a celebration of resilience and the limitless bond between parent and child, a brilliantly executed novel about what it means to journey from one world to another.

    My Thoughts:
I didn't like or dislike this book really. It was odd with little to no REAL resolution. It opens up into what happens after Room. In fact nearly the second half of the book is what happens after Room, but I feel like it never really resolves all the reader's questions. At least not this reader. I did like how it was written in a 5 year old mindset. After spending all my time with a 4 year old and a 3 year old, it wasn't that hard to understand :P Although I feel kind of dumb not knowing what the heck a duvet was!

    Tangled Procrastination

I discovered Gmail's tasks last night and set out to get a bunch done today, very cool, check it out if you haven't already. I'm a little behind right now because I wanted to watch Tangled. LOL. We got it in the mail yesterday.

The kids are being pretty good today and they are really funny too. Matthew told me earlier "Mom, I like being me" while we were getting back in the car after grocery shopping.

I knocked out 4 weeks of my 8 week Personal Financial Planning class yesterday and I'm working on my Small Business Plan class today. These are my last two classes and I could not be more excited!

Let's see what all I've got on my phone since it's Telephone Tree Tuesday. Feel free to link up - if you don't do it this week, take lots of pictures on your phone of the world around you and link up next Tuesday :) You can grab a button on the left sidebar over there!

At the car shop for 5 1/2 hours on Thursday. They were so good.

    Love this picture :)

    Oh my purty mau!

Matthew figured out how to do eyelashes like Spongebob's!

Then he showed his sister how to do it - she's been drawing a lot more lately.

This one actually has pupils. LOL

Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos and writing some more posts for Love Without Training Wheels

Walking to get the mail on Sunday. It was pretty nice out..then it snowed last night :/

    Cheesing.

    Pretty!

    They have become bff's :)
