Nail Files #56

Another super gorgeous color from Julep...but also a poor result in the wearing and tearing department. I have had it on a whopping 3 days - it's curling at my cuticles and chipping everywhere. Plus it looks like it went on streaky and uneven, even though it didn't. :/

It drives me bonkers that Julep has such beautiful, gorgeous colors, but the polish is horrid. I haven't even done a lot of cooking or washing dishes and they are horribly chipped. For as expensive as the polishes sell for, they are crap quality. *end rant*

Booooooooooo. Curling at the cuticles? SACRILEGE! Pretty colour, though. And how weird that it looks streaky after it dried?

Too bad about the lasting power... the color is really pretty!

Too bad, that definitely is a beautiful color! Does putting a clear coat over it help at all?

Hi Sarah,
I'm still pretty new to Julep, having only received my introductory box (though waiting on Feb's Maven Box)and I LOVE it! I received "Toni" and "Michelle" and thought they were easy to apply. I like the formula BUT YES, the CHIPPING! I just got Poshe's Super Fast Drying Top Coat and I'm hoping that will fix the chipping problem...we'll see! Found you through The Nail Files Link Up :)

Happy Friday,

@Andrea - no, clear coat doesn't help. I do a base coat, 2 coats of color, and a top coat. I let them dry in between each stage, all the way. The method works just fine with other polishes, but Julep is by far the worst formula. I think China Glaze is worst for chipping and their polish with hardeners is really streaky. I'm a big fan of Essie, OPI, and Wet'N'Wild.

From the picture it looks great! (: I love the color. Sucks that this brand chips so easily!! I've never tried it. Have you tried the Seche Vite top coat? That may help!

Aww that sucks :/ Occasionally I'll get a streaky bottle from Julep but typically I love their polishes

I agree, Julep has great colors, but their polish doesn't last at all!

I hate polish that chips off. It is good to know which ones are the best because I give them as gift to my daughter friends. The color of this one caught my eye, so I'm glad you let us know how it held up!Won't spend any $$$ on it.
