Mockingjay [Review]

Hmm. I think that I was kind of disappointed with this book (Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins - the 3rd and last book of the Hunger Games trilogy). I hate when you get cliffhangers in the LAST book of a series and you have an asston of unanswered questions.

So...
Mockingjay (Hunger Games #3) by Suzanne Collins - 4 stars
I docked a star because I think that the ending was lacking. It left a lot of unanswered questions and that frustrates me.

I think I'm going to use a random number generator to pick which book I read next. I think I'm probably going to read Discovery of Witches too and whatever is picked for the Clamhouse Book Club read. Right now I'm 7 books into my 150 book challenge and 2729 pages into my 20,000 page challenge.

Last night I let Jillian Michaels kick my ass at 9pm. I got the motivation to exercise and decided to run with it. I did her "No More Trouble Zones" dvd. It has 7 circuits...I made it through 4. Tonight I'm doing the last 3...probably dying my hair red too.

This morning...it was raining and 39...now it's snowing and 36. BOOO.

I am obviously not very coherent today. LOL. So now to kill some more brain cells with homework..yay!

Catching Fire [Review]

I'm so thrilled that I finished my homework on Saturday because I have been reading nonstop. I miss reading like this. I used to do it so frequently when I was younger. And as for my 2011 book challenges, I've got 144 more books to go and 17669 more pages to go! I'm about to start the last installment in the Hunger Games trilogy and I'm so excited.

So that means...I just finished the 2nd :]

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins - 5 stars
This book was unbelievable. Leaps and bounds more awesome than the first. I am absorbed in the story, it's all I can think about. Making guesses on what happens next in the plot.

Book Reviews and more :]

I do believe that I'm going to start doing book reviews in my blog. Just because I'm bored and hardly ever get on here enough. I need a motivator to keep me coming back and posting often. :)

So let me update which books I've read so far in 2011. I am doing 2 personal challenges, one is to read 150 books; the other is 20,000 pages. I've gotten 5 books down, 1940 pages down!

1. Skin Trade (Anita Blake #17) by Laurell K. Hamilton - 5 stars

2. Flirt (Anita Blake #18) by Laurell K. Hamilton - 5 stars

3. Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen - 3 stars
I was confused for over half of the book, too many names and the switch from present to past. The last half of the book was pretty good, but definitely not my favorite that I have read. I'm actually more excited for the movie because I think the story will translate better in film.

4. Bullet (Anita Blake #19) by Laurell K. Hamilton - 5 stars
I read some awful reviews on Amazon and I don't understand it at all. I think this was one of the best in the series. I cannot wait for the next book. This one, to me, was utterly amazing. I didn't want to put the book down at all....shit would hit the fan, then there was a bunch of sex, then more shit hit the fan, then more sex. AMAZING!

5. Hunger Games (Hunger Games #1) by Suzanne Collins - 5 stars
I believe this is classified as a young adult book, but I honestly think that it is a good read for adults too. The plot is so well-thought out and it keeps you wanting to find out and wanting to keep reading. I'm very eager to find out what happens next!

And now I'm on Hunger Games #2: Catching Fire. I'm so excited to read it. I've had it since Black Friday 2009 and I still have not read it (shame on me, right??).

So normal blogging...yesterday was crazy...
I went to Walmart for my follow up. My eye dr gave the kids glow-in-the-dark bouncy ball eyeballs. Matthew was so excited, it's all he could talk about for the whole day. My year supply of contacts are CHEAPER by like $70 than they were last year. I found some cute sunglasses (Amber, you would be proud, they are HUGE..I'm sure that you would steal at least one pair because they are pretty similar to ones you have, if I remember correctly.) and they are bug-eyed, which means prepare yourself for the apocalypse. I don't do big sunglasses. LOL. While I looked at sunglasses, the kids found stickers...and then I found OWL stickers. OMFG. I put them on everything when I got home. Then...as I was pulling into my garage (we got like 5 or 6 inches of snow yesterday :/), my nonworking headlight suddenly decided to work again??!!
