Top Ten Books on My Summer 2022 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. More information here.

I'm rolling over 4 books from my Spring TBR (1 of those rolled over from Fall & Winter). I definitely want to knock these out and start with a fresh TBR come fall. Fingers crossed I can do this! I have a few Netgalley books, a few books in series that will finish them out, and a few guilty pleasure smutty books!

  1. The Year Shakespeare Ruined My Life by Dani Jansen - Leftover from my Fall, Winter, & Spring TBR - Netgalley book.
  2. The Final Gambit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes - Leftover from my Spring TBR.
  3. Always Jane by Jenn Bennett - Leftover from my Spring TBR - Netgalley book
  4. The Witch Haven by Sasha Peyton Smith - Leftover from my Spring TBR
  5. Desperate Measures by Katee Roberts - I need some spicy in my life and this is one I've seen so many people talking about. And I have it on Kindle :)
  6. Lizzie Blake's Best Mistake by Mazey Eddings - I have this book from Netgalley and really really enjoyed A Brush With Love which is in the same universe. ADHD rep, MC works at a bakery, and it looks like there is the one-bed trope! YAY.
  7. Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon - Again more spicy books needed and I feel like this one is pretty well known as well. Gotta jump on the bandwagon!
  8. Soul of Stars by Ashley Poston - I would love to finish this duology. It's Anastasia in space!
  9. The Cursed Sea by Lauren DeStefano - Another duology I would like to finish. I really liked The Glass Spare a lot and hope the finale is as good!
  10. Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab - And one last duology to hopefully finish. I am determined to finish some series!

May 2022 Book Haul

Although I did haul 10 books, I have read the 3 library books, 3 were gifted to me, 2 others were free, and then I purchased 2. Only 7 left to read :) I have read half the books I've hauled so far this year which I think is great as I'm not always the best at reading what I'm hauling. Ideally, I'd love to end the year with 20 or under unread hauled books. Still working on books I've hauled a decade ago LOL

June 2022 TBR + Challenge Update

My favorite blurb, as always: In 2022, I'm continuing to participate in the Words & Whimsy Reading Challenge (new challenge each month - June is "Bjorn This Way" theme). You sign up and are split into teams and finish books for points. They also have a mini game, photo challenge, and charity challenge to get points for your team as well.

May was my lowest reading month since February 2020. However, it was crazy busy with end-of-the-school-year events AND I've been glued to the Depp v. Heard trial. I haven't watched a trial like this since 11 years ago when I watched the Casey Anthony trial. I finished 5 books and will keep the 6 that I didn't finish from last month for this month. I usually set a TBR of 8, but I'm going to mood read 2 of books. I feel no pressure because I've been pretty good this year to this point with reading my monthly TBRs AND hitting my goals. :)

My TBR for June:

  • You Have a Match by Emma Lord (Kindle - NetGalley)
  • Always Jane by Jenn Bennett (Kindle - NetGalley)
  • Bet On It by Jodie Slaughter (Paperback - Goodreads Giveaway)
  • From the Jump by Lacie Waldon (Kindle - NetGalley)
  • It Goes Like This by Miel Moreland (Kindle - Purchased)
  • A Vow So Bold and Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer (Hardcover - Purchased)

2021 READING CHALLENGES: should be at 41%
Goodreads Challenge: 47/52 books - 90% AHEAD!
Series Challenge: 13/20 series - 65% AHEAD!
Netgalley Challenge: 12/13 books - 92% AHEAD!
Haul It Challenge: 23/30 books - 76% AHEAD!

What are you planning on reading in June?
