April Photo-a-Day: my month in pictures

April was a hectic, but good month. I had a stress test to see how my heart was doing with the meds and it was perfect. The cardiologist was very happy about it. So that stress test ended up being the decider for a road trip up to Ohio to go to my sister-in-law Kathleen's baby shower. She's due in like a little over 2 weeks and I'm so excited. It will be my first nephew!! :) So let's get into this month in pictures...

I ended up straightening up my desk and it's been staying pretty neat. So proud haha // Saydee girl
I honestly don't know what filter did this, but it was a super dark picture and then it turned all artsy-fartsy // LOVE this monthly view kit for June!!

Bout of Books 16 [Goals & Progress]

Bout of Books

Hello, fellow bookworms!! :) It is my 13th time participating in BOB and I'm going to keep my goals simple and my progress in between doing a daily update, making a huge post, and doing one continuous update, making a small, small post. I'm currently reading "The Wicked Will Rise" by Danielle Paige and "We Should Hang Out Sometime" by Josh Sundquist. Starting at 53% and 34%, respectively.

[GOALS]
**Read a little every day
**Finish one book

[PROGRESS FINISH LINE]
TOTAL PAGES READ: 418 | BOOKS FINISHED: 1

I feel like I made a great deal of progress during the readathon this time. I went from 53% to 68% in The Wicked Will Rise. I went from 34% to 100% in We Should Hang Out Sometime (and reviewed it!). And lastly, I started Extraordinary Means and have ended the readathon at 45%. Over 400 pages read and 1 book finished. I read each day and that makes me happy!

Books I Read in April

Inherit the Stars by Tessa Elwood - 4 stars (finished 4/4)
BOOK 1 IN THE INHERIT THE STARS SERIES

I love how this book combined monoarchy type "kingdoms" and space. Kingdoms include multiple planets, not just some land on one planet. Asa is a daughter of House Fane, a house that is infected by Blight, running out of food and fuel. Whilest Asa's eldest sister, Wren, is in a coma, her other older sister, Emmie, is promised to the heir of House Westlet in a treaty between the two houses. Asa basically screws that whole thing up - drugs Emmie and marries Eagle, the Westlet heir in an attempt to right her wrongs...but she ends up wronging more wrongs.

May TBR List + Upcoming Releases

So I was at 5 books behind and got down to 4 and now I'm up to 6. OUCH. It's going to be a busy week for me, but I'm hoping that the upcoming Bout of Books readathon will get me caught up.
