March Book Haul

In March, I picked up 17 books. Last month, I only picked up 8. Seven of these 15 are physical books and the rest are Kindle editions. 8 of them were purchased, the rest were free, borrowed, or a prize from a giveaway. I have read 2 of the 15 (the ones from the library). My hope is to read my Kindle First books each month and start to work through the ones I have borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (and make it worth what I pay for it).

#AYearAThon [April TBR]

Each first full week of the month, a #AYearAThon readathon is held and there are themes and challenges for each month. In the month of April, the theme is BENCHWARMERS with the challenge of reading one word titles. It runs from April 2 to 8.

Updated on 4/11: Ugh. Another rough week that fell on #AYearAThon. On Monday, both boys threw up. On Monday evening, Cami started feeling sick. By Tuesday afternoon, I was scared she had the flu. I took her into the dr and it turned out it was strep throat. Then on Sunday, Nick broke his foot. It's been a messy week for my family and it wasn't anything to do with me for once! Anyways, I started Nevernight and Unwind. I'm 8 pages into Nevernight and 100 pages into Unwind. I also picked up Heart of Iron for the Owlcrate Book Club and got 118 pages into it. I DID read...just not really what I was supposed to. I did do better than last month's readathon where I only read 47 pages. This time I read 108 of the books for the readathon (plus 118 of another book, for a total of 226 pages).

Total books finished: 0
Total pages read: 108

April Monthly TBR & Challenge Updates

Towards the end of February, my reading slowed down significantly. In March, it didn't get better. I kind of fell into a slump and health issues took over. I'm slowly coming out of it, so my goal is to finish at least 3 of the books on my TBR. I'm really looking forward to Heart of Iron and Nevernight especially. Who knows...maybe April will be a super strong month like January, but I'm not holding my breath. Soccer is underway and we have 80 billion appointments coming up - including my 6 week checkup for my heart procedure.

My Tentative TBR for April:
  • Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston [Owlcrate book]
  • Everless by Sara Holland [for #AYearAThon]
  • Nevernight by Jay Kristoff [for #AYearAThon]
  • Unwind by Neal Shusterman [for #AYearAThon]
  • Black Chuck by Regan McDonell [Netgalley]
  • Seeker of the Crown by Ruth Lauren [Netgalley]
