Top Ten Books On My Fall 2019 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. More information here.

If this set of books looks familiar...it's because it's nearly identical to my Summer TBR. I hope to actually get some of these read before I get to my Winter TBR. I can do it. I know I can. Most months I read at least 3 to 4 books. I have a feeling some of these will be very quick reads. So here we go...

  1. Nevernight by Jay Kristoff - if you've been around for a while, you'll know this book makes every list. Ever. I've started this book and it has made 10 TBRs.
  2. Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody - I have also started this one and put it down. It's made 5 TBRs
  3. Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young - I read an excerpt of this, received an ARC, and I also have a signed finished copy. It has made 5 TBRs. I NEED TO READ IT.
  4. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken - I started this one. I would like to read it and then see the movie. It's been on 3 TBRs.
  5. Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan - Another one that I would love to read asap so I can watch the movie. It has made 2 TBRs and I have started it and was enjoying it, but then had to return it to the library because of the massive waitlist.
  6. Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake - I tried this one on audio and couldn't keep up. I purchased it on Kindle and just never picked it back up. It's been on 2 TBRs.
  7. Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews - I started this in a try-a-chapter prompt in July  2018 for a readathon. I was enjoying it but another book won out. It's been on 1 TBR.
  8. Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend - It's been on 3 TBRs and is super hyped and I know I'll love it.
  9. Bird Box by Josh Malerman - Perfect for fall and I've had it suspended on an infinite hold at my library.
  10. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid - I need to see what all the hype is about and this one is also one that's been suspended on an infinite hold at my library. So I need to get to it.

August Book Haul

Aug Book Haul | Check out the books I hauled this month #bookhaul

Trying to keep my haul numbers down a little bit. This month since I didn't have any preordered books, I decided to get a few Kindle books that I was really wanting. I also found Fix Her Up for a steal at Kroger and purchased Restart for a book club at my kids' school that families get to participate in. It was already a book on my TBR, so score! I received one Netgalley book and got one audiobook from the library, which unfortunately I had to return before finishing, so I'm back on hold for it. Overall though, I'm okay with the amount of books that came in during August even if I only read 2 so my numbers are a little off balance - not like it's the first time that's happened ;)

PHYSICAL BOOKS
  1. Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey - purchased paperback at Kroger for $8.99
  2. Restart by Gordon Korman - purchased paperback on Amazon for $4.59
KINDLE BOOKS
  1. Venom in the Veins by Jennifer Estep - purchased on Amazon for $1.99
  2. Kissing Tolstoy by Penny Reid - purchased on Amazon for $1.99
  3. The Girl in 6E by A.R. Torre - purchased on Amazon for $2.99
  4. One, Two, Three by Elodie Nowodazkij - purchased on Amazon for $3.99
  5. Jane Anonymous by Laurie Faria Stolarz - gifted from Netgalley
LIBRARY BOOKS
  1. Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor - borrowed audiobook from my local library

September Monthly TBR & Challenge Updates

Sept Monthly TBR and Challenge Update | The post where I share what I plan to read and how badly I'm doing on my yearly reading challenges :)

As expected August was a very slow reading month because I was concentrating on college. I read 2 books. I managed to fit a term's worth of classes into one month. Only 5 classes remaining in my degree and I have 5 months to finish them and I think I can do it after doing 4 in one month. I don't think I'll be doing them all that quickly now, but I definitely would like to finish by Christmas at the latest. This month I would just like to finish the books I have started and see what happens from there! :)

My Tentative TBR for September:
  • The Darkest Star by Jennifer L. Armentrout
  • Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout
  • Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor
