May in Review

I think I'm finally feeling like an adult. This month has been full of army volunteer meetings and events, doctor's appointments, a readathon, started my first batch of beer, getting into college, half school days, no school days, getting my hair done, gardening, an online bake sale, a birthday party, and more. I don't have as much going on in June, but I think it'll still be busy. July is gonna be nice and easy though!

So here's what you may have missed on the blog in May:

Nail Files #74

Another two polishes from the Oz collection from OPI: Glints of Glinda & Which is Witch. Glints of Glinda is a very pale nude beige-y color. I personally love the color, but it doesn't work well with my skin tone. Which is Witch is hands-down my favorite glitter from the collection but the glitter was hard to get out of the bottle and onto my nail, despite the handful of different shapes and sizes of glitter present.

Things I Don't Love Thursday

I never had an issue with this as a teenager...and now all of a sudden, I'm a pizzaface.

Cellulite "cures"
Look folks, cellulite isn't what media makes it out to be. Cellulite is a normal part of having a body and you can't "get rid of it" with some damn cream. You know how you can reduce the look of normal fat under the skin??? EXERCISING.

People who say they are confident, but really they just parade around a super disgusting negative attitude.
I find this more and more nowadays. These twatwaffles going out of their way to tell others how confident they are. And by confident, I mean they act like rude pigs. Nothing makes you look more confident than being a damn slob with an attitude.

Today's post is brought to you by..
people being super annoying LOL

Deployment Tales: Mustache Care Package

So our very first care package to send to Nick was made into a semi-theme package. We decorated it in mustache duct tape and left a cute note in 50s style exclamation :) The kids drew him pictures too.

Mostly what we sent out was his favorite stuff. He's on night shift right now and they are getting rid of breakfast over there which is his dinner, so I sent him a lot of snacky foods.

The best part is that I sent it on a Monday and he got it the following Saturday. Last deployment it took a few weeks. Oh how times have changed! The next package is going to be necessities - hygiene and guitar strings (per request LOL).

Life Happenings & Tummy Grumblings

Before we get started on my silly life/food post, I just wanted to say that today is a day to remember. Remember those who have lost their lives and those who are still fighting - these guys and gals above are Charlie Co and it's safe to say they are constantly on my mind! My hubby is the one cheesing in the middle of the top row :)

My week has been kind of nuts.
Tuesday was our monthly FRG meeting - I was happy to see my friends :)

But I was not happy that a storm hit in just a huge wall. I ended up getting home and being completely soaked to the bone. I hate Tstorms and it makes me so terrified to drive through them.

Wednesday was easily my most stressful. I went to leave to take Matthew to school and my car didn't start at all. Everything inside was dead. I discovered my battery terminal had cracked and it wasn't tightened enough to get that charge. Nick wasn't online yet because he was really busy and so I called my mom-in-law asking what to do, because I had no clue. I was just freaking out.

I ended up getting my car towed to our favorite auto body shop. I nearly cried. That's my baby. We think it may also be the alternator, but got the battery terminal fixed first.

I have my Zelnut brew in secondary :) A few weeks and it's time to bottle!

Thursday I got my car back :)

It was also one month done this week, so we celebrated with cake.
Pina Colada Cupcakes were our cake of choice this month :)

Muffin (who is Nick's cat) has been very clingy and attached to me since he left. Poor baby.

Friday, we had an appt to resign up for the daycare program on post. They had this little puzzle board in the waiting area and I almost didn't let them play with it. It has all the locks that I don't want my kids knowing how to a deadbolt on #5.

The weekend was spent at our friends' house. The kids played Wii with Matt :)

...while Jamie, Amanda, and I decorated and made the cake for one of their friend's birthday.

Jamie brought her GS, Peanut, who is just the best dog ever - didn't get a picture of Duke, but he's feeling much better and back to his normal bulldoggy self! We decided to do a Grease themed night, so I went as Frenchy (as Frenchy as possible) and Amanda was Rizzo.

I went with polka dot, puffy sleeves, flower in the hair, and pearl necklace with lipstick included for Frenchy at the carnival scene :)

After the kids went to bed, Matt made me a brain hemorrhage shot! I've seen these on Pinterest and overheard him talking about how they made them the week before. So I had to have one. It's Peach Schnapps, Bailey's, Blue curacao, and grenadine syrup. I honestly thought I'd not like it, since I'm not a big fan of peach-flavored anything and I don't like Bailey's, but it was good.
Really sweet though, so I only had 2 the whole night.

In the morning, I ran out for bacon and syrup and Amanda made us all bacon pancakes!

Sunday night, the kids and I had a DS party :) We played Mario Party...I won. haha

This week I shared some of my very favorite recipes to date on the food blog.

Hope y'all have a great week!

Nail Files #73

This was my first Ulta brand nail polish. The color is absolutely gorgeous and the most perfect pale pink. I wasn't that impressed with quality though. It chipped on me pretty quickly. :(
