Books I Meant to Read in 2025

2025 ended up being such a weird reading year. I hit my goal of 100 books in the end but once fall hit, I really hit a slump and struggled to enjoy reading. I'm going to try and lower my goal for 2026 and not have TBRs at all to assist with not having a ton of books that were on a TBR to finish. It tends to just make me feel bad that I'm not getting to them.

Each year, my goal is for this specific list to be under 10 books. I was able to do that for 2025 with just 9 books that I meant to read that I did not get around to. Part of that is due to me recycling my TBRs from month to month.

December 2025 Book Haul

 In December, I hauled 12 books and spent $0 and saved $199.27 hauling from my local library. My only "purchased" book was free on Kindle. I have read 11 of the 12 books leaving 1 left to read. I am ending 2025 with 22 books unread out of all the 130 hauled books and a 83% ration of read to unread, which is the same as last year!

Hauled in 2025, But Haven't Read

I feel really good about 2025 as a whole for my book haul. Despite this list being 22 books long, last year's was 31 books. I really didn't get haul heavy until closer to the end of the year when I got a gift card from work that I used to buy a bunch of Kindle books. I hauled a total of 130 books - almost 60 fewer books than the year prior. I read 83% of the books I hauled, an identical ratio to last year. I spent $259.54 on books (including the Audible subscription I had for a while) and saved $1,632.74 by using my local library. As per usual, I'll update as I finish these books over time!

Series 2026 Tracker

I decided I probably won't post as many blog posts as I used to. I think it will just end up being monthly books I read recaps and things like this because I use this the most! My goal in 2025 was to get my series to 25 and I got pretty close! I really feel like I can get this number down low. I'm more intentional when I read a series book to make sure it's a completed series and that has been working very well.

Of the series on my list, 18 are completed as of the end of 2025. Of those completed series, 6 have a single book remaining. I can do this!
