Matthew's 6th Birthday
So, last week was my oldest baby's 6th birthday. I don't know why, but it totally kills me when he gets a year older. He's my baby. It seems like just yesterday I became a mom - the whole experience literally changed my world completely. It changed everything. I never thought I had the capacity to love another person as I do Matthew (obviously I love my husband too, but a mother's love is completely different). :)
We celebrated a day early due to Nick going out to the field for a week starting on his birthday. He opened presents from us and my parents and one of our friends. He got Beyblades, Legos, Super Scribblenauts (for DS), Peter Pan (on DVD), and a few other things. He got some awesome Ninjago stuff from my husband's parents on his actual birthday.
Just like with Cami, I asked him questions that I'll one day turn into a book. Here were his answers:
What is your favorite...
What do you like to take to bed with you at night? Pluto (stuffed animal - Mickey's dog)
What do you want for dinner on your birthday? Calzones, and put pepperoni in it, as well.
What do you want to be when you grow up? A writer

He loved his card from Grandma & Grandpa
Nick showing him his Beyblade (he got 2 and adores them!)
His face! LOL. He was so excited about the Legos.
He asked for a Rolo Cake for his birthday. We had calzones on his actual birthday.
He didn't see the cake until it was sat down in front of him. He loved it!
On his birthday, I brought cupcakes to his class for snack.
He told his class all day long about them and he had picked them out himself: Rolo cupcakes to go with his Rolo cake, I suppose. They were the very best cupcakes I've ever had. He loved them too.
Just like with Cami, I asked him questions that I'll one day turn into a book. Here were his answers:

Design: Redhead in the Rain
I was really excited when Sarah contacted me to do a blog design because she gave me a little of a challenge. She wanted the Seattle skyline in her blog header. I messed around for a few hours and told her I was ready to take on the challenge!
She wanted light or pastel pinks, greens, and yellows. Other than that she was pretty open to what I could come up with.
I used Lavendaria Sturdy font for her header and Didact Gothic and Pea Sarah Quick in her sidebar. One of my favorites of the whole blog is her siggy:

I let them pick out what kind of dinner/cake they want.
Cami went with pepperoni pizza and funfetti cake.

March TBR List
You'll notice all my leftover 2012 books disappeared. This is because all of those leftover books went into my extra pile. They will be read when I have extra time and no books to read. I tried not to fill up my months with too many books. I had one book that I didn't get to and I was really bummed out. I have been looking forward to that one! I'm ready for March though :)
Books from February:
- Override by Heather Anastasiu
- The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima
- After the Snow by Crockett
- Carrot Cake Murder by Joanne Fluke
- A Million Suns by Beth Revis
- Stung by Bethany Wiggins [NetGalley]
- The Rules by Stacey Kade [NetGalley]
- Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl [We Heart YA - Series Read Along]
- Days of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor [We Heart YA - General BOTM]
- The Selection by Kiera Cass [We Heart YA - Theme BOTM]
My Reading Challenges from We Heart YA Books! group on Goodreads:
Spell out NEW YORK: 2/7 completed (ends 3/31)
50 States Challenge: 9/20 completed (ends 12/31)
A-Z Title Challenge: 11/26 completed (ends 12/31)
Spell out CLOVER (ends 3/31)
Read 2 books with green covers (ends 3/31)
Because #1058 is the sixth Vampire Academy book, I'm going to read Vampire Academy, the first in the series, by Richelle Mead. I'm very excited because I have heard so many wonderful things about the series.
