- The Toll by Neal Shusterman - Confession: I haven't read Thunderhead yet, although I do plan on it soon. I was putting it off until the third book had a release date. I'm so excited to finish out this trilogy because Scythe was one of the most unique and insanely incredible books I've ever read. I preordered it the second I saw it was available for preorder. Release date: November 5
- Supernova by Marissa Meyer - I really enjoyed Archenemies and would love to know where Meyer is going with this story! Release date: November 5
- Soul of Stars by Ashley Poston - the sequel to Heart of Iron! I have this one preordered as well. I thought it was meant to be a duology but the Goodreads blurb makes it seem like there may be more. The cover of this one is just as stunning as the first book and I am SO ready to read more of the story. Release date: July 23
- Past Perfect Life by Elizabeth Eulberg - All I really know for this one is that it takes place in Wisconsin (close enough to Minnesota to make me happy) and things aren't what they seem for the MC. It's pretty vague but definitely caught my interest. Release date: July 9
- Wilder Girls by Rory Power - First of all, the cover - WOW. It's a horror book which isn't usually my go-to genre, but it sounds very dystopian like with a virus that is taking over an island with an all-girls school. Release date: July 9
- Let's Call It a Doomsday by Katie Henry - I enjoyed Heretics Anonymous and am excited that Henry has another book coming out. It follows a girl named Ellis who has anxiety and has prepared for all the different possibilities of doomsday. Sounds right up my alley. Release date: August 6
- Rebel Girls by Elizabeth Keenan - Literally it says in 1992. SOLD. It's a feminism book and it takes place in the 90s. Sign me up. Release date: September 10
- The Infinite Noise by Lauren Shippen - The premise says "What if the X-Men, instead of becoming superheroes, decided to spend some time in therapy?" and doesn't that sound awesome?! Release date: September 24
- Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo - This is Bardugo's first adult novel. I love the cover. The story follows Alex, a 20 year old woman who is tasked with keeping tabs on Yale's secret societies. It sounds like there is some paranormal/fantasy edge to it. Release date: October 1
- Blood Heir by Amelie Wen Zhao - Another Anastasia retelling to make my list (Soul of Stars is the other), but this one is more fantasy than sci fi. It looks so dark! Release date: November 19
Tell me what books you're anticipating in the second half of 2019.
Are you looking forward to any on my list?
