December Book Haul

December Book Haul | Check out the books I hauled this month #bookhaul

I swear I do this every month where I go back and forth between a minimal haul and then a little out of control haul. To be fair, I have read all of the 7 library books and that's half of the haul. I purchased one book for myself (The Black Friend - also got approved for an eARC), received 3 books for presents, and then there is my Owlcrate book and the Kindle First book. Really not too bad. The only book that I for sure will be reading in January is The Black Friend. I wanted to fit it in for December but didn't, but it's a high priority read.

PHYSICAL BOOKS

  1. The Black Friend: On Being a Better White Person by Frederick Joseph - purchased Hardcover on Amazon for $15.99
  2. Instructions for a Secondhand Heart by Tamsyn Murray - gifted a Hardcover copy for an anniversary present

  4. Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust - gifted a Hardcover copy for Christmas
  5. Trixie & Katya's Guide to Modern Womanhood by Trixie Mattel and Katya - gifted a Hardcover copy for Christmas

Bout of Books 30 [Reading Log]

It's time for BOB readathon once again. I am participating for the 27th time! Bout of Books 30 runs January 4 to 10 and is hosted by Amanda and Kelly. I am going to try and update on Twitter and Goodreads

I am beginning to lessen the load of all the things I do on my two blogs and the internet in general since I am actively looking for work and there is a lot on my plate with all 3 kids doing virtual school. So no goals or TBR post, no separating into 2 posts for keeping track of what's going on. So just this post for the week :)

January 2021 TBR & Monthly Challenge

Monthly TBR and Challenge Update | The post where I share what I plan to read and how badly I'm doing on my yearly reading challenges :)

Happy New Year! I think we're all ready for a do-over. I'm excited to start another year of reading and see what all I can accomplish. I ended 2020 with 91 books read and 2 DNFs. My Goodreads goal was 50 - which I hit. I finished 9 series, so close to my goal of 10. I read 16 Netgalley books - 4 more than my goal. I only read 1 Owlcrate book and 1 Owlcrate Jr book - something I want to work on in 2021.

For 2021, my goals are about the same: 50 books total, finish 10 series, read 12 Netgalley books, and read 12 Owlcrate books. I'm participating in Words & Whimsy Reading Challenge (probably all year - I'm obsessed) and also The Avengers Initiative Reading Challenge (a year long challenge). I have decided to track pages read each day and if I want to read all of these books this month, I have to read 125 pages per day. I think I can do it and I'm excited to really push myself!

My TBR for January:

  • The Toll by Neal Shusterman [Physical]
  • Legendborn by Tracy Deonn [Physical - Owlcrate]
  • Seeker of the Crown [Kindle - Netgalley]
  • This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab [Physical]
  • Wicked Fox by Kat Cho [Kindle]
  • A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer [Kindle]
  • The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black [Physical]
  • Talon by Julie Kagawa [Physical]
  • Ten Rules for Faking It by Sophie Sullivan [Kindle - Netgalley]
